Lynn has worked with animals her entire life. She grew up around domestic animals and has raised horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, birds and turtles. Lynn is also an experienced wildlife rehabilitator, specializing in mammals, turtles, songbirds, and raptors.
Lynn has been training dogs and teaching people for more than 30 years. In addition to being a graduate of the esteemed Karen Pryor Academy as a Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP), she holds professional certifications as a Fear Free Certified Professional Trainer, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, CCFT, Fit Paws Master Trainer, CTDI, TTouch L1 Practitioner, APDT C.L.A.S.S. & AKC CGC/STAR evaluator. Lynn started her career in the veterinary industry as a Veterinary Technician and Practice Manager and from there, started showing her dogs in AKC Obedience. When a client brought in a very troubled dog for euthanasia, the journey of animal training and becoming a behaviorist began. Lynn’s passion is about the human-animal bond, created and nurtured by clear communication and positive reinforcement. Committed to training both dogs and people with R+ methods, she is also committed to continuing education. She attends behavior conferences and training seminars regularly, bringing the most up-to-date information to her clients and patients.
Lynn has titled dogs in AKC Obedience, CDSP, AKC Rally, WCRL, & CGC. Trick Training for Performance Sports, Therapy, Agility and K-9 conditioning are some of her other interests for her own and client dogs. Lynn is also an experienced wildlife rehabilitator, specializing in mammals, RVS, turtles, songbirds, and raptors.
As a Fear Free Veterinary Professional, she combines training with desensitization and counter conditioning to help pets have more positive experiences when visiting their Veterinarian. Lynn shares her home with six dogs (two rescues and four golden retrievers), chickens, horses, geese, several neighborhood dogs, and her incredibly talented and patient husband.
Committed to training both dogs and people with positive reinforcement methods, Lynn is also committed to continuing education. She attends behavior conferences and training seminars regularly, bringing the most up-to-date information to her clients. Lynn participates with her dogs in multiple venues that include AKC titles of CD, CDX, RN & RA. In addition, Lynn has certificates in TDI (Therapy Dog International) and ITD (Intermediate Trick Dog). As time permits, she visits assisted living facilities and hospitals with her therapy dog, Zane. In addition to Obedience, Rally and Tricks, Lynn is now utilizing specialized canine conditioning regimens to keep her pups injury free during Agility Training and Trialing.
